The meme coin “Cats in a Dogs World” (MEW), based on the Solana blockchain, has reached a new all-time high with an impressive 18% price surge. This surge came after the South Korean exchange Upbit announced the addition of the Korean won (KRW) as a trading pair for MEW. Prior to this announcement, MEW was priced at $0.0089. However, after the news spread, the coin experienced a bullish momentum, pushing its price up to $0.010.
Upbit had previously listed MEW with various pairs, including Bitcoin (BTC) and USDT, back in September. Although this initial listing sparked a rally, the coin failed to surpass its previous all-time high of $0.0097, reached in March. As of now, MEW is trading at $0.0095.
Interestingly, the market reaction to this latest development may surprise some. Usually, listings on Upbit result in a rise in the prices of the respective cryptocurrencies. For instance, the listing of Injective (INJ) last week led to a 10% jump within minutes.
In addition to the price increase, MEW’s trading volume has also seen a significant rise. Santiment reports that the token volume has exceeded $200 million, indicating strong support from market participants during this rally.
