Healthcare company Semler Scientific has recently increased its Bitcoin holdings through the purchase of 215 BTC, worth $17.7 million.
This latest acquisition took place between November 6 and November 15, bringing the total Bitcoin stash of the company to 1,273 BTC. The average price paid for each Bitcoin, including fees, was $82,502.
Since May, Semler has been gradually building its Bitcoin position. It initially invested $40 million in Bitcoin, following the investment model of MicroStrategy. In the past month, the company has made additional significant purchases of BTC, resulting in a total holding of over 1,000 BTC.
The company’s strategy has proven successful, as Semler reported an 18.9% increase in Bitcoin yield from October 1 to November 15. Overall, the Bitcoin holdings have generated a 37.3% yield since the acquisition began. By purchasing Bitcoin during a period of record highs, Semler has benefited from the profitability of its entire Bitcoin portfolio.
Semler’s bold investment approach has also had a positive impact on its stock price, which increased by 10.36% to reach $49.09 on the NASDAQ. Investors have responded favorably to the company’s exposure to Bitcoin.
