    Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim plans to join the economic bloc BRICS, representing the southern countries. Anwar confirmed this decision in an interview with China’s news media Observer Net, emphasizing the strategic interests of Malaysia’s cooperation with China amid the tense relations between China and the United States. This move comes after a recent initiative by Thailand to join the BRICS.
    Russian President Putin’s visit to North Korea, the signing of a mutual defense treaty, is used to support his opposition to aggression. The agreement marks the end of North Korea’s international isolation and balances Russia’s dependence on China.
    Putin’s subsequent visit to Vietnam highlighted his ongoing political influence in Asia.

    Meanwhile, the United States is working to catch up with China’s defense capabilities and seeking cooperation with allies in defense production.
    The US-Japan Defense Industry Forum aims to improve air defense, naval and aircraft maintenance, and supply chains.
    A conflict between the United States and China could have global consequences, but the increasing support from more Asian countries for the BRICS policy is tilting the balance in favor of the alliance.
    While the US economy appears stable at first glance, de-dollarization, rising debt, and geopolitical tensions could change this situation.
