As the election approaches, former U.S. President Trump is receiving a large amount of cryptocurrency donations.
Online cryptocurrency donations have reached nearly $60,000, excluding donations made through centralized exchanges such as Coinbase.
According to blockchain analysis firm Breadcrumbs, Trump’s campaign team received $218 in online cryptocurrency donations from 59,386 contributors. Analyst James Delmore explained that many donations came from exchanges not typically considered for online transactions.
The majority of donations are in USDC, transmitted through Ethereum, Basis, and Polygon. Trump’s campaign has raised over $2.6 billion, with traditional donations still taking the lead.

Winklevoss twins
They announced a $20,000 donation in Bitcoin to support Trump’s campaign and his stance on cryptocurrency. However, part of the twins’ donation was refunded due to exceeding the allowable amount.
Trump’s campaign began accepting cryptocurrency donations in May, emphasizing support for the industry. This move comes amidst regulatory challenges and as Congress shifts towards supporting cryptocurrency legislation with the election approaching.
