    Last year, the BRICS countries invited six new nations to join, but only four accepted the invitation. The new members include the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Iran, and Ethiopia, while Argentina rejected the proposal. Saudi Arabia is still considering whether to join, and Argentina failed, while BRICS member India seems dissatisfied with the latest additions. At the 2024 summit, India is considering rejecting all new member proposals.

    Russia and China are both seeking to further expand the size of the BRICS countries at the upcoming summit, intending to establish a group to challenge the influence of the United States, Europe, and other Western countries. However, India is concerned that Russia and China are using the BRICS countries to advance their geopolitical ambitions rather than promoting a balanced partnership.

    indicates that India advocates for a pause in expansion, providing five years of rest before considering the inclusion of more countries. The purpose of this pause is to give the current member states time to adapt to recent changes and ensure the preservation of the original principles of equality and cooperation within the European Union.
