Investor and fund manager Dan Tapiero expects the number of initial public offerings (IPOs) related to cryptocurrencies to increase in the near future. In a recent conversation with Scott Melker, Tapiero discussed how the ongoing innovation and growth in the digital asset space are attracting increasing investment interest in what is now called “public blockchain and crypto businesses.”
Tapiero predicts a wave of IPOs or special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) in the next 18 months. He pointed out that companies like Kraken, while not strictly considered blockchain companies, fall into a new category of public blockchain and crypto businesses.
Tapiero believes that Coinbase will ultimately become one of many large cryptocurrency-related companies available for investment. He is almost certain that within five years, there will be several important publicly listed crypto companies, as many venture capitalists are eager to invest in this rapidly growing field.
While Coinbase is a current option, the market will soon provide a wider range of companies for investment.
