According to news on March X, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed support for Kazakhstan’s accession to the BRICS group.
At present, the alliance is considering expanding its membership to help counter Western dominance in global political and economic order.
In this context, President Tokayev held a press conference in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, calling for Kazakhstan to take on significant responsibilities in international affairs, contribute to global governance, and endorse Kazakhstan’s accession to the BRICS group.

Xi Jinping’s visit was a result of his participation in the SCO Heads of State Summit from March 4th to Xth.
Additionally, during the meeting, China and Kazakhstan agreed to significantly increase bilateral trade.
