Over the past year, the number of installed cryptocurrency ATMs (cryptomats) globally has increased by 17.8% to 38,279, approaching the record of 39,541 set in October 2022.
According to data from Coin ATM Radar, 2,564 new cryptomats were installed in 2024, showing a positive trend compared to the 2,023 cryptomats removed in 2023.
The total number has been increasing every month from April 2023 to July 2024.
Leading operators of cryptocurrency machines include Bitcoin Depot, Coinflip, and Athena Bitcoin, with 7,543, 5,057, and 2,756 machines respectively.
Bitcoin remains the most popular cryptocurrency for transactions, followed by Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
Over 82% of cryptocurrency ATMs are located in the United States, followed by Canada at 7.7%. The number of machines in Australia has grown significantly, increasing nearly 17 times over the past two years to 1,107.

Other countries with a large number of cryptocurrency ATMs include Spain (313), Poland (279), El Salvador (215), Poland (211), Germany (177), and Hong Kong (169). New Zealand has over 100 cryptomats each.
